The Gambia is a desired beach destination for holiday makers far and wide. European flights take on average 5-6 hours to reach Banjul International airport – making it the perfect all year round escape.

Travel By Air

Among others ASky, Air France, Air Senegal, Brussels Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, TAP Portugal, Turkish Airlines and Vueling offer all year round flight to Banjul International Airport. Mainly during the winter months there are charter flights from the UK (Gambia Experience & TUI, the Netherlands (Corendon & TUI), Belgium (TUI) and Poland (Rainbow) Banjul Int Airport is 19 km from Kololi Resort and takes approximately 30-40 minutes to reach resort by vehicle.

Travel by Car

For the more adventurous, why not stop off in Senegal and drive across the border – this takes approximately 5 hours from Dakar to reach the border with Gambia.

The ferry crossing from Barra to Banjul can take up to 1 hour and sometimes there are longer waiting times. Alternatively you can drive via Farafeni and cross the river by bridge.

All visitors are required to show a valid passport upon arrival and departure.

Most visitors do not need to obtain a visa prior to arrival, and are issued with a Visa-upon- arrival stamp in their passport with a validity of maximum 28 days.

Please check with your nearest Gambian Embassy which nationalities need a visa prior to arrival.

As a result of the Covid pandemic there are some travel restrictions, please check with your travel agent or airline for the latest update.

Upon departure, your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months.
